The District is governed by a five-member board of directors elected by the public every two years for alternating four year terms.

Board Secretary

Gordon D. Pickett, U.S.N. (Ret.) graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland in 1953. He served his country in both Korea and Vietnam, spending 18 years as a Carrier Attack and Special Weapons Delivery pilot. Between 1977 and 2001, he served as Veteran’s Employment Representative with the State of California’s Employment Development Department. Elected in 2002 to the Board of Directors of Clovis Veterans Memorial District, he currently serves in leadership positions in some 35 other Veteran and community organizations locally. He lives with his wife Pat and golden lab (Sean). His son and daughter are both Air Force Veterans, and his two grandsons are currently serving in the Army Special forces.
